NEXT DUE DATE - INITIAL APPLICATION - SEPT 20th
Thank you for pursuing the NYS Seal of Biliteracy! Please consult this page for useful information regarding both the English and the Spanish/French/Italian research papers and oral presentations.
At our initial meeting (Monday, October 23rd) you viewed a PowerPoint presentation outlining the program. If you were not at the meeting or wish to view the slides again, CLICK HERE.
You also received project proposal sheets at the initial meeting. You should know by now if you have to complete one or two research papers.
Click here for a Spanish/French/Italian proposal sheet. There is no proposal sheet needed for the English Project as there is only one topic. See below for details.
Project Guidelines:

The research paper proposals are due by November 21st. Please see me before school or during periods 3,4,7 or 8 in room 218 or 211.
You will meet monthly with your advisor. If you fail to make your monthly meeting, you are at risk for not being able to complete the requirements.
Here are due dates for your information:
Before Thanksgiving: Stop by my room after receiving this email and return with your proposal.
Before December vacation: Find source material (one written / one audio or video) in the target language.
By the end of January: Rough copy (copies if completing English project as well) are due.
By the end of February: All edits and revisions are to be completed and handed in (copy).
You must check in with me at least once a month but I find that you will often need more “quick check-ins” especially when you are finding source material and revising your work.
